Our
chapter performs many community service projects throughout the year.
Our efforts benefit needy children and families in the Phoenix
metropolitan area. We are always looking for members input and support
of the projects we select.
Past
Projects:
- Birthday
Boxes for the
East
Valley
Child
Crisis Center
– Members donated and wrapped large boxes filled with themed party
supplies, favors, cake mix/frosting, and decorations. These
donations enable the Center to celebrate a child’s birthday at a
moment’s notice.
- Spring
book drive to benefit the Reach Out and Read program at the Phoenix
Children’s Hospital
- Donations
to local charities – Monetary gifts were made by selling tickets
to a silent auction with various community organizations donated
items and services.
- Collected
school supplies for disadvantaged children in the Kyrene school
district
- Silent
auction for Maggie's place (a shelter for pregnant and new mothers)
- We got donations of various items from local businesses and
donated 100% of the proceeds.
- Adopted
a Mother and Child at Maggie's place for the holidays. We got
clothes, gifts and essentials for a new mother and baby
- Maternity
clothes and baby supplies Drive for Maggie's place - we collected
many boxes of maternity clothes, baby accessories and baby clothes
from our members
Current
Projects:
- Cell
Phone Drive – we are collecting used cell phones to fundraise for
various charities year round (PBS, Maggie’s
Place, Paula Christenson Fund).
