Our Activities
Here is a general list of activities held by our chapter throughout the month. The actual activities vary each month, but this should give you an idea of what we do! Activities and meetings, with the exception of Mom's Night Out, are held during the day and CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
Monthly Business Meeting:
Once a month, we hold a business meeting to discuss and vote on upcoming events. We may have a speaker from the community who present information on a wide range of topics of interest to our members. This past year we have had a speaker on child safety around water, ways to stay physically fit, going green, plus a representative from the Kyrene School District informing us about the Kyrene Preschool program!
Park Days:
Our area has many parks that we love to take our kids to enjoy the great weather. When the weather is nice, we try to plan at least one park day a week within the area to give the kids a chance to play with each other. During the hot summer months, pool days and indoor activities are held instead of park days!
Other Daytime Activities:
When it is nice out, we love to schedule trips to the zoo to show our kids all the great animals. We also enjoy going to places such as Pump It Up, Toy Town and storytime at one of our local libraries.
Playgroups:
This is a great opportunity to get your child together with a small group of kids his or her own age! Playgroups also offer a great opportunity for moms to meet on a regular basis!
Walking Group:
To stay fit, we have a walking group! A few times a week, we schedule a time and location where moms get together with their child in stroller and take a nice paced walk.
Meal Support Program:
Any time a mother needs a helping hand, our members combine efforts to provide their family with a full meal, child care, cleaning, grocery shopping or something else the family needs. Members are eligible for this extra support due to an illness in the family, a personal crisis, or the birth of a child.
Mom's Night Out:
As much as we love our children, it is still nice to get out of the house once a month and share a little "moms-only" conversation! Past activities have included going to the movies, meet for dinner or chat over a decadent dessert!
Secret Sister:
Another chapter in our area offers this, and we thought we would try it out too! We’ll have our first sign up at our Mother’s Day event. Everyone who wants to participate gets a Secret Sister to spoil with little treats now and then. Each person’s Secret Sister will be revealed later in the year
